Meet Our Team

Casa Mia Tours was created by Gina and Eleonora.

We are culinary professionals, seasoned home cooks, wine and cheese specialists, who are also great friends.

Gina Tringali

Owner

Gina is a travel and food writer, culinary guide and natural wine lover. She divides her time between Italy and the U.S. traveling to meet food experts, wine producers and chefs. Uncovering wine & culinary history, traditional & creative food recipes and emerging food trends is an endless adventure.

Born into an Italian-American family, she fell in love with all things Italian at a young age. Time spent in kitchens with her Neapolitan and Sicilian grandparents watching, cooking and tasting every dish fed this love and dream of living in Italy.

In 2007, Gina packed her bags and moved to Rome to make her dream of living and working in Italy a reality. While earning a Master’s degree in Italian Gastronomic Culture from the Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata, she worked as a tour guide and put her business expertise to use as a consultant for a number of tour operators. The end result was the creation of Casa Mia Tours.

She moved into the food and tourism industry in 2006 when she had the opportunity to work for Tom Colicchio's Craft family of restaurants in NYC in business development & marketing and spent some time in the kitchen. Previously, she worked in financial services in Boston, New York and London.

Gina has an MBA from New York University, holds the WSET Advanced Certificate in Wines and Spirits and is a certified sommelier and member of the Associazione Italiana Sommelier (AIS). She appears in Hulu's "Searching for Soul Food" (the Italy episode) and was the production coordinator for “Master Chef Australia” in Rome and the Naples and Emilia-Romagna episodes of the Netflix series “Ugly Delicious”. Her writing appears in numerous food and travel print and web publications.

Eleonora Baldwin

Owner

American-born and Italian-raised Eleonora is a TV celebrity, bilingual journalist, and culinary connoisseur.

After a successful career in graphic design and motion picture, Eleonora’s attention transitioned to journalism and blogging with a strong focus on her great passion: slow travel and the culinary culture of Italy.

Constantly on the lookout for tantalizing food in Italy and beyond, her reporting appears regularly in several online and print food & travel columns. Her topics range from the Italian lifestyle to culinary customs and traditional recipes.

She is the creator of popular food, travel and lifestyle blog Aglio Olio e Peperoncino, which has subscribers in over 100 countries.

She is the host and creator of prime-time TV hits “ABCheese”, “Uazz’America”, "A tavola con mamma" and "Lezioni di Farina" broadcast by SKY TV for Gambero Rosso Channel, Italy's number one food network.

Carolyn White

Owner

Carolyn White was born into an Irish-English American family in Brewster, Massachusetts. After 18 years in education as a teacher and counselor, Carolyn made a life-altering decision to change careers and venture into the culinary world. During the summer of 2017 she staged at Coppa Enoteca in Boston where she focused on the art of pasta making. In December 2018, Carolyn was accepted to Alice Waters’ Rome Sustainable Food Project and moved to Rome in March 2018. There she studied Roman food and culture, sustainability practices, and cooked for the residents of the American Academy in Rome. With Casa Mia Tours, Carolyn contributes her writing for the blog, and is employed as Experience Manager for Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, and beyond.

We booked a pasta-making class through Casa Mia Tours. Being a pastry chef myself, I have pretty high expectations for a cooking class and this experience met them all, and even exceeded some!
