Engaging with their personal guide – the granddaughter of world known filmmaker and 4-time Academy Award winner, Vittorio De Sica – participants discover beautiful spots of the Eternal City that over the decades have been used as filming locations for famous movies such as The Bicycle Thief, Umberto D, Il Tetto as well as Roman Holiday, La Dolce Vita and more. We’ll walk to where famous scenes were filmed, learn where the directors and cast stayed, and their favorite restaurants. Participants also have the opportunity of meeting people who knew the filmmakers, and some locals who were extras on screen. During the exclusive strolling talk, guests step into the silver screen fascination of old Rome, with culinary points that will include learning about – and tasting – the foods portrayed in some of these films. This unique cinema and food exploration ends seated in a charming wine bar with a curated aperitivo, tasting various specialties portrayed in the films shot around Rome.
