Continue to Piazza Duomo, home to an iconic fountain and the 13th-century cathedral, before reaching Piazza IX Aprile, one of Taormina’s breathtaking viewpoints, offering sweeping vistas over the Bay of Naxos. If time allows, stop for a refreshing granita or another local Sicilian specialty.
The next stop is to view the archeological remains of the Odeon (a Roman temple) and the ancient gym known as the Naumachie, before a visit to Taormina’s special Greek Theater. From here, enjoy spectacular views of the Ionian Sea with Mount Etna rising dramatically in the background.
