Discover the authentic Sicily by visiting a delightful goat farm in the countryside near the Baroque city of Noto. Learn about how local cheeses are made, starting with milking the goats and ending with a Sicilian tasting session.
Immerse yourself in the Sicilian countryside with a unique experience at a lovely goat farm. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to meet the friendly family who owns the farm and learn the names of the 70 goats, who produce delicious milk used to make different types of cheeses. If you’d like to have a hands-on experience, you’ll have the opportunity to help milk some of the goats and taste warm milk directly from the udder.
There are many other animals who live on the farm, so you can also cuddle the rabbits, the dogs, cats, chickens and the calf too!
After getting to know the farm animals, you’ll learn about the properties of goat cheese, discover the history of the farm and this territory, as well as the process of making the different cheese varieties.
Join the family in the delightful process of making fresh ricotta (using the milk from earlier in the day) and learn all the secrets of this typical Sicilian cheese.
Afterwards, you will be able to savor the fruits of your labor with a tasting session. This will feature the ricotta you just made along with other delectable homemade Sicilian recipes crafted by the talented owner, such as pizza, schiacciate, seasoned cheese, tomato salad, ravioli, wine, cannoli and coffee.
