New Opening: Queen Bee Roma

By July 18, 2017November 27th, 2022No Comments

A new restaurant/cocktail bar/all-around cool place to hang out just opened in Rome, only steps from Campo de Fiori and Largo di Torre Argentina. Queen Bee Roma touts itself as a “lobster, burger, and pizza” restaurant, which is a strange combination. Especially for Rome. But this restaurant is surprising, serving a variety of small bites along with solid cocktails that make it a good place to grab an aperitivo if you’re in the center.

Queen Bee is open from the morning to night, which is reflected in the menu. You could stop in for a quick lunch of pizza or a light primo piatto, or indulge in a lengthy dinner with secondi such as fillet of beef or the “Queen Lobster.” They make all of their bread and focaccia in house. Paired with a selection of meats and cheeses from Lazio, the focaccia makes for a great snack with one of their many cocktails. They also serve good fritti: two supplì (one regular, one cacio e pepe) were stand outs.

The burgers are average, but you didn’t come to Rome to eat burgers, did you? Same goes for the lobster and the pasta. Our recommendation is to grab a drink and a few snacks if you’re looking for an aperitivo with a bit of a “scene.” We look forward to trying Queen Bee Roma again once it has a few months under its belt.
