In a year where we saw a tremendous rebound in the travel industry, one can only ponder on what will happen in 2023? Will people continue to cross the globe with such vigor as they have in the past 12 months? Will Italy continue to be one of the top destinations in the world? We can only hope this will be true, provided it is safe to do so, as this past year has been so wonderful booking experiences for our clients, really our friends. We truly look forward to welcoming you all back to Italy.
As we look over last years’ tours at Casa Mia, there are a few trends that truly stick out. We would like to share these with you as sometimes looking behind helps in planning ahead!
1. ROME
While we offer experiences throughout Italy, Rome continues to dominate in our bookings. This is no surprise as according to CNN – Rome was once again in Euromonitor’s Top 10 most visited cities across the world for 2022. The amount of tours we offer in Rome continues to grow for a variety of reasons. One of which is that there is an unlimited amount of experiences to offer from food, wine, art, street art, art history, and of course the archaeology sites. Even if just in Rome for a day, consider taking the opportunity to explore with us. Rome continues to give!
2. DINE WITH A LOCAL
Dine with a local is a wonderfully unique experience that we offer all over Italy. It is a way to connect to a new locale, with a local. It is more than just meeting an individual, it is opening yourself up to the real life experience that only a local can provide while sharing a meal. Breaking bread if you will. Over the past year, our clients have truly embraced this offering of ours. We have seen a significant increase in this experience and we could not be happier about it. Whether in Rome, Naples, Bologna, Florence, and beyond, there is nothing quite like being in the know with those who know! Upon arriving into a new city, Dining with a Local is the perfect introduction.
One of our favorite Italian destinations awaits!
Explore the culinary delights of Emilia-Romagna with our exclusive tours in Bologna and Parma. Discover the rich flavors of Parmigiano, prosciutto, and balsamic vinegar in Parma, or join a cooking class at Casa Mia.
In Bologna, immerse yourself in the vibrant market scene, enjoy an aperitivo, or dine with a local. Tailored and custom experiences ensure a unique adventure, blending history, culture, and gastronomy.
Whether savoring local specialties or exploring vineyards, these tours promise an unforgettable taste of Italy.
Join us and let the beauty of Emilia-Romagna awaken your soul.
3. MULTI-DAY ITINERARIES
Did you know that we create multi-day itineraries? Oh yes, we do it! Although we have always done this type of experience, 2022 proved to be the year that really highlighted this option for us as we created a record number of them. If you are looking to ensure that you eat well, allow us to plan out your lunches and/or dinners for the duration of your stay. There is no reason to stress over where to eat or how to make reservations. Our dining itineraries include our favorite restaurants, both well known and off the beaten path. Plus all the fun food and wine themed experiences on the ground… 2022 presented many opportunities for us to create wonderful, unique, and fun 4, 8, 10, and even 15 day itineraries for our clients. We look forward to continuing to build in this style to celebrate your honeymoon, retirement, or just to celebrate life! Let us cultivate the trip of your dreams.
4. SOUTHERN CHARMS
Heading south towards the Amalfi Coast has always drawn in visitors and 2022 continued this trend. We fully expect 2023 to do much the same. The allure of the coastline dotted with multicolored buildings, the stunning views, and of course the seafood and wine bring clients back to this area time and time again. This past year took Eleonora and Gina back to this area to focus on what Casa Mia could offer that extends beyond what others have. While the experiences we have established do just this, stay tuned for what we have in store for you next!
5. NORTHERN DE-LITES
2022 took more of our clients to Venice and Milan, both of which have been a very attractive draw for travelers for a very long time. There has also been an upswing in travel to Emilia-Romagna, which boasts some of the most, if not the most, delicious food in all of Italy. Seriously – how do you contend with Prosciutto, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and Lambrusco? Right? As requests for these northern areas continue to pour in, the ladies of Casa Mia have decided to head north to do a bit of research. Work is hard, but someone has to do it. Please keep in touch to see these forthcoming developments.
Again we cannot thank you enough for your continued support. We strive to offer our clients, our friends, the best, because you are the best. We are grateful for 2022 and even more so for 2023. Happy New Year to all and we hope to see you soon in Italy!
