Welcome back to #whatscooking! January 2022 is upon us and the Casa Mia ladies look forward to offering their interactive online cooking classes and wine and cheese tastings. Look for new classes in addition to some of the most popular classes of 2020 and 2021. Yes, we are almost two full years into our online experiences! So let’s get to it!

Our January 2022 #whatscooking interactive online cooking classes and wine tastings are open for enrollment! 

Once again, the Casa Mia team (Gina, Eleonora and Carolyn) are offering one-plate simple interactive cooking lessons and wine and cheese tastings. Since starting these experiences in 2020, we have created a way to bring the universal us together online for those not traveling to Italy yet. And for those of you who have been lucky enough to travel recently, you get to bring the flavors of Italy back to your own kitchen!

As always, lessons are geared toward home cooks like us, and are open to all. Check out our January cooking classes and wine and cheese tastings below. Most importantly, remember to sign up before classes fill up!

Saturday, January 15, 2022 – Tiramisu with Eleonora

Literally, “pick me up” tiramisu is one of Italy’s most beloved desserts. The worldwide craze for Italian tiramisu started with Tom Hanks in Nora Ephron’s 1993 rom-com “Sleepless in Seattle.” During our 90-minute live interactive tiramisu workshop, we will layer espresso-soaked ladyfingers with a mix of mascarpone, sugar and eggs.

Tuesday, January 18, 2022 – Roman Classics with Carolyn

Viva la cucina romana! Today we explore two of Rome’s favorite pasta dishes: Amatriciana & Gricia. While Amatriciana is among Rome’s most representative pasta dishes originating in the hilltop town of Amatrice in the late 18th century, Gricia is the actual foundation for many of Rome’s famous pastas. The simple combination of Pecorino Romano and guanciale – cured pork jowl – forms a delicious dish in its own right. During our 75-minute live interactive cooking workshop, we prepare both!

Saturday, January 22, 2022 – Wine and Cheese Tasting

Our January tasting celebrates winter with Gina, Eleonora & Carolyn’s three winter wine & cheese picks. We will taste 3 wines paired with 3 cheeses made in different styles. The Casa Mia team will share why they love the selected wines and cheeses and share their favorite dish pairing. Cheers to winter!
